Recently Microsoft launched Silverlight 5. Soon after we released Integrity 2.1 which was fully optimized to take advantage of the new Silverlight. One issue that we’ve had reported several times now is regarding Silverlight’s isolated storage, which Integrity uses to store certain types of map data locally for better performance and user experience.
How to fix isolated storage error in Silverlight:
- If you receive an error “Silverlight Isolated Storage” that means your application settings were reset inadvertently during your upgrade from Silverlight 4 to Silverlight 5.
- To resolve the isolated storage issue, click “OK” then right click on the loading screen or just wait till the map loads – either way, right clicking will give you a single option that says “Silverlight”. Go ahead and click that.
- A menu will open for Silverlight’s settings – click on the “Application Storage” tab.
- In the bottom right there should be a single check box titled “Enable application storage”. This needs to be checked.
- If it’s unchecked, just check it and click “OK”.
- Exit out of your browser and restart it. This should resolve the Isolated Storage error.
Many times people will change the zoom level of their monitor or browser in order to enlarge text, icons, etc. Changing these from their defaults causes Silverlight 4 to trigger a known bug which keeps Integrity and other Silverlight-powered web apps from properly handling resolutions and varying zoom levels with its internal icons. Thus this affects the “hit” areas of the icons, causing them to skew and become unpredictable. This behavior can be caused by three things:
- Changing the zoom level of your browser. Go to the view/zoom settings of your browser – in popular browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.) its usually just File/Tools -> View/Zoom – and make sure the zoom level is set to 100%.
- Monitor text size (DPI) is greater than 96 or depending on operating system, 100%. In Windows 7 or Vista you can check this by right clicking the desktop and go to Screen Resolution / Properties -> Make text and other items larger or smaller -> Set custom text size (DPI). In Windows XP right click your desktop then go Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> General and make sure the DPI is set to 96.
- Increasing text or item size on your screen to be greater than 100%. In Windows 7 or Vista you can check this by right clicking the desktop and go to Screen Resolution / Properties -> Make text and other items larger or smaller. Then just make sure it is set to 100%.
This isn’t a bug of any sort but rather a behavior of Integrity’s Quicksearch which occurs when the only map layer selected is “unsearchable”. Currently jurisdictional data is the only unsearchable layer as it is set to be purely for visualization. To search you must make sure you have the proper map layers turned on, otherwise you will not be able to conduct a search. See the screenshot below.
No, the folder these get stored in is not located in you temporary internet files and folders.
The markup tool functions as both a drawing and measure tool. So what does that mean? Your drawings are automatically measured – turn the measurements on/off by simply adjusting the drop-down menus provided.
All the windows that pop up within Integrity are built within the website and do not require you to turn off your pop up blocker. If there is any hyperlink that takes you to another website such as the Property Record Card or links to your CAMA providers website it will pop up another window that may require you to allow pop ups.
When you install Silverlight to your computer there is a storage folder that gets created on your machine and everything gets saved there.

There is a help section built into Integrity. You can access the help by clicking on the question mark on the far right of the bottom toolbar. You can also access the help from any pop up window from within Integrity. There will be a question mark in the top right hand corner of the window to see the help associated with the window. Be sure to also check out the Product Blog for video resources, news, updates, and more!
To export all the attributes of selected records you click on the Microsoft Excel icon at the top right of the Results window. Save the Excel file to your computer and print from Excel.

Its also possible to print individual records directly from Integrity. To the left of each result entry there is a small print icon – just click it and the print dialogue will open along with an extra page that displays the feature and its attributes.
If you are typing the address into your address bar the address probably starts with http:// and to view the website it must start with https://. The “s” has to be at the end because Integrity sites are SSL secure.
General
We’re not sure entirely. The code for Integrity is the same regardless of the type of monitor you have and the best conclusion we can come to is that Silverlight just doesn’t like touch screen monitors. So if you have an All-in-One Tablet or Touch Screen PC running Windows 7 here’s how to get things running:
*Please note that the below instructions will disable your touch screen capabilities.
- Right click My Computer
- Manage
- Services and Applications
- Services
- (Right Click) Tablet PC Input Services
- Under Service status click the Stop button, then change the Startup type to ‘Disabled’
Unfortunately this is the only way to get Integrity to work under these circumstances. If trying the above doesn’t work fill out a support ticket and we’ll do our best to help get you running.
Most Integrity websites have a secure-access only aspect to them. Sometimes certain layers are available only if you’re logged in – other times you may have to log in to use certain tools. All this means is that if you’ve copied a link with secure-access only site features then whomever you share the map with will be required to login before they can view the map you’ve shared with them.
As a rule of thumb if you’re logged in and have created a map link, then whomever you share it with will need to be able to log in as well. Contact your respective website administrator for access.

Yes. This is possible through Integrity’s web editing. You can set coordinates and place new features such as manholes, water valves, fire hydrants, etc. automatically just by importing a .txt file generated from a GPS Unit.
We have an automated batch program that runs on a daily or weekly schedule that copies any updated GIS data from your GIS file server to your Integrity™ web site. If a new layer is created or developed, Midland GIS will upload this layer into the web site at no additional expense. Just let us know and we’ll update the map service.

Yes. Midland GIS Solutions has no rights to the data, nor has the authority to sell or provide the data to any third party without authorization.
Yes, however it does require that the site owner has the File Manager built into their site. This is typically set up as a secure login function. Once a user logs in with their username and password, they have the ability to download selected data layers from the web site.
You can cancel your web hosting at any time. There is no annual contract agreement for the web hosting services we provide.
Yes. There can be a public access site with limited functionality and data availability along with multiple security levels to access sensitive data and web functionality.

There is no limit on the number of users that can access the web site at the same time – that’s the beauty of it!

Integrity was built on the Silverlight framework and can’t be viewed without this free web browser plug-in from Microsoft. It takes less than a minute to install on most computers – just click below to get started.
Absolutely! Integrity uses 128-bit encryption through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) security, which is the industry-standard encryption scheme trusted by thousands of banks and retailers to keep sensitive information such as credit card numbers safe. Your data and account details are encrypted to prevent malicious users on the Internet from eavesdropping or modifying any communication between your computer and our Integrity servers.
If you don’t want your data to be publicly available, your Integrity site can be configured to require a login. Anybody who accesses the site will be required to login before they can view any GIS data.
Yes, you can host Integrity internally. Midland GIS will provide the onsite setup and encrypted source code to Integrity. Customizations can be made through a settings file. Midland GIS will also provide service packs by download for new and updated functionality in accordance with our Hosting Options.
